Priority Area SPM

Deb Froemming

Priority Area State Program Manager
“REACHing out Hand to Hand”

The priority area began in 2003 and changes every 3 years. The current 2024-2027 area is the Reach Program. The priority area encourages members to come together and support a statewide organization in need. The idea is to raise awareness, supplies, and funds for our chosen organization. Together we can do more! The past priority organizations have been Girl Scouts 2003-2006, Jacob Wetterling Foundation 2006- 2009, Can Do Canines 2009-2012, Isaac’s Journey Foundation 2012-2015, Breaking Free 2015-2018, Wishes and More 2018-2021 and Crescent Cove 2021-2024.

The REACH Program is a voluntary, in school program designed to assist our students who may need support academically, socially, and /or emotionally. The goal of REACH is to help students experience success by learning new life skills to overcome barriers and/or challenges present in their lives. Class groups (Teams) ideally consist of 10 to 15 students, with direct instruction from two instructors (Team Leaders), working closely with the team of Administration, Social Worker, Guidance Counselors, and students’ Families. The REACH Program not only supports these students academically but helps the students to build skills necessary to become successful adults after graduation. There are a number of programs in schools across Minnesota.  If you need help identifying a local program, contact the Priority Area SPM at priority-area@mnwt.org.

FOR DONATIONS: please make donation checks out to MNWT and write the appropriate Foundation’s Name in the comments. Then send the check to the Chapter Service Center so we can keep all funds together for the presentation of one big check at the Annual Convention. DO NOT FORGET to submit the Program Manager Trimester Report, an Outstanding Program Manager Nomination and Project of the Trimester. THANK YOU for your support! All the United States Women of Today forms and resources can be found on the United States Women of Today Website.
