Proposed Programming Changes to be voted on at Winter State 2019

The Programming Task Force has been hard at work looking into recommendations for our programming areas for the future. One recommendation is to combine the current programming vice president positions of Internal VP and External VP into one Programming Vice President position. After much discussion and with the approval of the Future Directions Committee, the Programming Task Force will be bringing forward a motion for vote at Winter State to make that change. Other recommendations will be proposed in the future. For the exact motions and an FAQ, click here.

The Programming Task Force with the approval of the Future Directions Committee is making the following recommendations to be approved at Annual Convention and to take effect with the 2019-2020 Women of Today year. For more detailed information, click here.

  • Recommendation #1: Create a Public Relations Assistant supervised by the Executive Director and eliminate the Public Relations SPM position. Some tasks will also be moved to the Marketing Committee.
  • Recommendation #2: Create a Success System Coordinator supervised by the Chapter Management Vice President. Move Mid-Year and Year-End Evaluations to the Programming Vice President. Eliminate the Records & Recognition SPM position.
  • Recommendation #3: Create a Newslet Editor supervised by the Secretary and eliminate the Newslet SPM position.

2018-2019 MNWT Statewide Buckets of Sunshine Project

Chair Shellie Matthes has done an awesome job with the Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies this year! This project culminates with a presentation at the Luncheon on Saturday @WS2019. Click this link for more information on what your chapter can still do for this organization. MNJOTS CIP | Fall State CIP

What is Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies?

Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies is a non-profit organization created to establish a human donor milk bank in Minnesota. We are affiliated with the Human Milk Banking Association of North America, HMBANA, which establishes guidelines for donor milk practices. Their mission is to improve infant health outcomes by ensuring that medically vulnerable babies —in Minnesota and the Upper Midwest—have access to safely pasteurized life-giving human donor milk when mother’s milk is unavailable or in low supply.

What's Next?

We are now accepting nominations for the 2019-2020 Statewide Buckets of Sunshine Project. When nominating an organization for this, keep in mind not only how we can help the organization, but also how the organization can promote Minnesota Women of Today. There is a new online form available that is due Saturday @WS2019. Remember, if you submit an organization for this project, you and a representative from the organization must be available to attend the Marketing Committee Meeting in March to present it for the vote.

Second Trimester Ways & Means Promotional

MNWT Blog Scavenger Hunt

It's the Web Development Subcommittee's goal to get you looking at all of our online resources. So in that endeavor, we have been busy this year reinvesting in the MNWT Blog. A blog is a regular feature appearing as part of an online publication that typically relates to a particular topic and consists of articles and personal commentary by one or more authors. Thanks to Social Media Team Lead Jeny Ohr and Membership Vice President Anna Nichols, we have been regularly posting articles to the Blog this year focusing on our chapters and our officers; in second trimester, we will also be reintroducing the "What's Your Why" program. This scavenger hunt will introduce the MNWT Blog to you and get you used to interacting with this social media platform.
