The Minnesota Women of Today passionately believes in making the world a better place by serving others in our communities across the state. The needs of every community vary so chapter members choose service projects to sponsor in their own community. However, the state organization annually promotes the USWT Buckets of Sunshine Project through the Marketing Committee, many Organizations We Support through it's varying programming areas, and individuals throughout the state with the Outstanding Awards programs. The Statewide Buckets of Sunshine Project allows a non-profit organization to bid for one-year commitment from MNWT to collaborate with them on promoting their cause. In return, the awarded organization will promise to promote MNWT to its members and contributors. MNWT will offer support through fundraising events, helping create community awareness and assisting in other opportunities to benefit the organization. This is the MNWT version of the United States Women of Today's Buckets of Sunshine project.
The vision of the Minnesota Women of Today is to research and develop opportunities for our organization to partner with other organizations to benefit communities at the local, district or state level. The organizations that are chosen, emphasize one of the core programming areas. Most of our Organizations We Support focus on women and children, but that is not always the case.
MNWT is proud to sponsor annual awards for merit meant to honor individuals for their outstanding achievements in our communities. Recipients do not have to be Women of Today members to receive these outstanding awards. Currently we are honoring the Outstanding Young Adult Award (OYA), and the Lois M Christenson Women Who Impact Award (WWI).
