	2020 Vision Boards	Vision Boards have become an annual event for the Burnsville Women of Today. Members get together for a couple of hours to sift through magazines and other sources for inspiration. Through photos, quotations and positive reinforcing words, members create a vision for what they would like to see in the year to come in their personal, professional or BWT lives! It is a great exercise that starts us off on the right foot and provides encouragement to those around us. Click here to contact the Burnsville WT chapter for this activity.
	Adopt-A-Family	Obtained a family to adopt for the holiday season. This family has a special needs child and had very limited Purchased gifts for a family of 5, along with a gift card for Christmas dinner. Wrapped the gifts and labeled them. 	After Prom Party	A party for prom goers was held at the school after the prom dance. This provides activities for teenagers keeping them out of trouble and safe. We had a disc jockey, volleyball, videos and casino type games were available. Snacks and pop were furnished. Periodic drawings for door prizes were held and grand prizes were awarded. We acquired donations of prizes, food, funds and time from the community. Breakfast was served by another organization to the teenagers and volunteers who helped all night. 	Amazing Race	This m-event is perfect for teams of members, perspective members, or families. One of the suggestions that the MMC has heard is to get families involved. Madelia did this as a family event and it was a blast. It includes the clues we used in our race with additional suggestions. You will need to rewrite the clues so they match your town and what stops you choose. Click here for more information. 	Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?	This m-event is modeled after the favorite TV show and is a lot of fun. The attached script has the questions/answers and all of the props needed. You can invite a 5th grader to be the star or improvise with your DD or chapter president. Even if you have not seen the TV show, the script has all the info you need to run a successful m-event. 	Baby Picture Contest	Advertise to get pictures of babies for contest. Parents of children one year and younger submit the child's picture and they are displayed in a local grocery store. Post pictures at place of business with drop box for money. Have each picture numbered. Each picture has a separate coin box. Citizens "vote" for the winner by placing money in a box by that picture. Voters vote for their favorite baby by putting money in appropriate coin box. Baby that raised most money receives a prize. The winner's picture is published in the local newspaper. 	Baby Pool	For pregnant members we hold a baby pool where members pay 1 - 2 to enter. The person who guesses the closest date, time of delivery and correct sex wins 1/2 the pool. The mom and March of Dimes each get 25%. Chapters can vary the % of pay. This is a way to raise money for the March of Dimes and members have lots of fun with it. 	Backwards BBQ	Life is so uncertain, eat dessert first! This M-event is complete with invites and instructions to hold a backwards party. Plan everything backwards from serving dessert, then the meal, then the appetizers to doing the door prizes first, saying hello to everyone as they leave. Have fun with this backwards idea! If you choose not to do a BBQ, then just call it a Backwards Bash or come up with a new name. Click here for more information. 	Bake Off	We have two members that usually bake several items for the state fair. Since that was cancelled this year, they organized a bake off as an m-night/fundraiser for back to school. They each baked 5 items and the rest of the group got to be the judges. $700 was raised to use for students in the Melrose Area school district. 	Banana Dip Stand	Supplies needed: Bananas, cherry, butterscotch & chocolate dip, skewers, napkins, crock pot, and chest freezer. Bananas are peeled; skewers inserted and then flash frozen. Dips are melted and kept warm in crock pots. Bananas are dipped and placed back in freezer. We do this during our county fair. We sell them for $1.75 each. 	Birthday Boxes	Write letters to local supermarkets and discount stores for donations. Each box includes: cake mix, frosting, candles, toy. 	Blankets for Anna Marie's	Members tied 15 blankets to be donated to Anna Marie's House in St Cloud. This is a shelter for women and children. Click here to contact the Melrose Area WT chapter for this activity.
	Boo Bash	Boo Bash is an event for young children to track or treat in a safe environment at Prince of Peace Church in Burnsville MN. This is Burnsville Women of Today's second year participating in the event. It is a great opportunity for the chapter to promote themselves in the community and to work together as a chapter to create a great experience for kids. The BWT members came up with a theme, Not-so-Spooky Haunted House, created decorations and activities to entertain the kids including: a crazy balloon hang, gross and grimy touch-and-feel stations, lighted ghosts and a not-so-spooky tunnel to crawl through. The kids and parents who attended truly enjoyed the activities and the chance to trick-or-treat for candy in a safe environment. Click here to contact the Burnsville WT chapter for this activity.
	Book Club	The Burnsville Women of Today had a goal of holding a regularly occurring Book Club this year, once each trimester. Our Living & Learning LPM, challenged us with two books about great women and women in leadership, The Book of Gutsy Women and She Did It! Members read about women in a variety of areas of expertise. At the book club meeting, each member presented at least 2-3 examples from the book she read to educate the other members. These books were a great way to segue into a variety of other topics and discussions during the course of the evening and a great educational opportunity for members. 	Bracelet Making	We met and learned how to make about 4 different kind of bracelets. It is being nominated because it was a great living and learning activity. we also centered it around making 2 bracelets, for friendship day. you were to make 2, keep one for yourself and then give one away to a friend! 	Candidates Forum	During election time organize a "Meet the Candidates Forum." Candidates forums are held every election year to introduce the candidates and issues to area residents. Invite candidates, draw up questions of current interest and host a forum in which everyone can discuss the issues. We invite questions from the audience, which is one of the best parts of this project. We feel it has increased voter interest in the candidates and also has made candidates aware of their responsibility to voters. This gives the public an opportunity to meet candidates, hear platforms, ask questions and listen to the debate on issues requested by voters. Local bakery donated cookies, members baked bars and coffee was furnished by our chapter. The media was contacted with newspapers, radio and TV stations attending. 	Cards for Seniors	Due to COVID 19, so many seniors are unable to receive visitors and go out to see and meet people which could make them feel isolated and lonely. Receiving a handmade card is a small way that we can bridge the distance between us and them and help them with their feelings of isolation and loneliness. So far we have had two card making events. During an outdoor concert event we provided paper and crayons in order for them to create a card for a senior. However, during this event we found that adults were just as interested in creating cards to cheer up seniors. Our second event was held at the Aquatic Center. We are planning on several more events in the hopes to put joy into the hearts of folks who cannot visit with others. Click here to contact the Anoka WT chapter for this activity.
	Cards for the Nursing Home	Our members got together and wrote special words of encouragement and added a few stickers to the envelope for all of the residents we made 125; there were 3 members and 3 guests. Click here to contact the Eastern Carver County WT chapter for this activity.
	Cards for the Troops	In honor of Veterans Day, members of Burnsville Women of Today partnered with Military Missions, Inc. to provide Cards for the Troops. Military Missions provides care packages that include 10-15 personalized cards to military members serving overseas. Eight chapter members during our board and monthly business meetings completed 145 cards for the organization. This was a great opportunity for members to honor service members and observe the relevance of Veterans Day. Click here to contact the Burnsville WT chapter for this activity.
	Caroling at the Ambassador Home	Each year our chapter visits the Ambassador Nursing Home and carols for the residents. This is something that the residents always enjoy and it is also a special project for our members and families. This year they also brought Christmas cards that were donated and signed by members and their families. Many residents don't receive gifts and cards in the home, so it was extra special to receive the cards. Chairs worked with the volunteer coordinator at the Home to arrange the evening. Songbooks were provided for those attending and a good singing voice is never required. Singing began at the Bingo event, then they walked the halls, stopping at some rooms in the main home and then went to the assisted living building. They sang for 75 minutes and after gathered for holiday treats and beverages in one of their meeting rooms. The event was held on Sunday afternoon, December 15th. Children are a special treat for the residents, so we encourage members to bring their children as well as guests. We had 2 guests and 6 children caroling with our 6 members. One of our members works at the home and set up the refreshments for after, but was unable to participate due to an injury. The project was chaired by Pam Medvec and Delores Hoseth. This is a busy time of year for everyone, so to take the time to bring joy to others is important and we feel that we brightened up the Holidays for the residents that we sang for. 	Chicken Soup for the Woman	Enjoy a bowl of soup and bring Chicken Soup books and take turns reading stories. You could also send out an instant soup packet with the invite. Click here for more information. Click here to contact the MNWT Membership Management Committee for this activity.
	Christmas Bingo for Kids	The purpose of this project is for families to come out and enjoy a day of playing bingo and winning toys and door prizes. Project benefits people in the community and surrounding areas. Planning for this project starts in November. Finding a venue, advertising, purchasing toys and door prizes. Each year we have the participates bring a non perishable food for the the food shelves in our community. This year we donated 89 pounds of food and $8.00. 	Christmas Sharing Tree	This project is to provide presents for the less fortunate in our County to make sure that they have a Christmas present to open. This is for children from 0 to 16 years old. We send applications to Human Services and churches looking for names, enter the information into our Date base, put tags on tress around town, gather up the wrapped gifts and then buy gifts for the tags left over, We wish to nominate this project as we feel this is a worthy project and bring cheer to children in the area. 	Cook Off Feed	On Sunday November 10, 2019 our chapter hosted our 5th annual MHS Scholarship Cook Off fundraiser. This fundraiser is to raise money for our annual $500 scholarship that is given each year to a graduating senior at the Monticello High School. This year the participating candidates had their choice of making chili or soup. There were 7 entries. Prizes were given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. And a prize was given for The Fan Favorite. 15 members and 11 guests were in attendance and $170 was raised for the MHS Scholarship. Click here to contact the Monticello WT chapter for this activity.
	COVID-19 Masks	From home, a member made and donated 23 masks to Trillium Service. She put in about 12 service hours without any material costs. The in-kind donation was valued at $115 for the MNWT Community Connections programming area. She had a bunch of bandanas that someone gave her. Her friend and fellow member said her business needed masks to work with her clients. So she put the two together. 	Dignity for the WIN (Women In Need)	In the fall of 2019 the project was created, as woman we felt no woman so ever go without feminine hygiene products. This program was started and funded by the Warroad Area Woman of Today. We provided funds totaling $200 from our chapter to start the project and had product at the local public library that could be obtained no questions asked and with no one needing to know. For marketing we had an interview on the local radio, hung up flyers, worked with the local library, and made posts on social media sharing the program, letting people know where to go, and asking for product or monitory donations. We have been able to keep the program going through donation and members have individually raised funds at events such as working a game stop at a local ATV fun run bringing in $200 more. Since the project has rolled out in the last trimester we found a need for the products to be present within the school system in January 2020. At that time we made contact with the school and made sure products were bagged and provided to school age kids needing the products. More recently in April 2020 with the pandemic we have modified our program again to extend to stocking the local food shelf with these products. At this time another $150 dollars in products were purchased. We are keeping in content contact with each place for when items need to be restock and plan to fund raise as needed to keep this project going. 	Dog Days of Summer Photos	Community members brought their pets and children to Municipal Park to be photographed by our Women of Today member. Advertising was done ahead of time for the event by chapter members. It was advertised through local papers, social media, flyers, and radio. People were asked to call and set up an appointment time so that social distancing could be observed. The project was done in conjunction with the Tri County Humane Society, who also advertised through their social media. Pictures were taken outside with 3 different outdoor backgrounds. Donations were taken for the event. The pictures were emailed or put on a disc to give to the participants. 7 members participated by having their pets pictures taken, along with community members. Proceeds went to the Humane Society, Domestic Violence, and school supplies for Sauk Rapids Rice Public Schools. The event was covered by the local paper. 	Dreams for Kids	We purchased $650 (70 pairs) worth of kids pajamas. We then brought them to a meeting and put banner wrap that explained about Dreams for kids, along with information about WT and our chapter. 	DVA Collection Donation	Collected purses and used funds raised through sale of handmade greeting cards and a $25.00 donation from the chapter to purchase feminine hygiene products and delivered them to Anna Marie's. 	Easter Egg Hunt	All local children were welcome. Use an outside area even if it snows, where eggs are hidden eggs for kids to find. The hunt is usually held on Palm Sunday afternoon and is geared for kids 3-9 years old. Children can be put into age groups and sectioned off for them to find the eggs. Contact local merchants to ask for donations, and arrange food vendors and entertainment. Preregistration forms are distributed to local schools and day care centers; a small fee is charged. On the day of the event, the children are given an empty bag with the hunt instructions attached. They are then let loose in the park area and allowed to find up to 4 small plastic eggs. When done, the children return to the check in point, turn in their eggs and receive their gift bag. Another option would be to fill plastic eggs with candy and prizes, then them within the Easter Egg Hunt area -- this would be better for a smaller group of children. 	Eve in the Orchard	The Fairmont Women of Today hosted a new event. “Eve in the Orchard” was a night for women to leave all their cares behind, laugh and have fun, make new friends, and leave newly inspired. Our generous hosts for the evening were Gordy and Karen Toupal of Center Creek Orchard. If you have not yet visited Center Creek Orchard, it’s an absolute must! The picturesque apple orchard is just eight miles southeast of Fairmont, off County Road 18. While you could spend all day picking the most perfectly crisp apples off the over 500 apple trees, you may miss a few other fun things. Center Creek Orchard offers hayrides, a jump pad, mini golfing, a super slide, a giant maze, pumpkins, adorable goats, and much more. The women who attended “Eve in the Orchard” were able to participate in all of these activities, along with a few special event additions. Guests also enjoyed wine tasting, a photo scavenger hunt (with prizes), a meal, chair massages by Jessica Larson, horseback riding, and delicious fudge samples. If that wasn’t enough, attendees also learned a few Instant Pot skills as Sue Bay and Denise Lewison showed us how to whip up a mean pot of homemade applesauce. Furthermore, Dee’s Floral demonstrated how to craft a fall floral arrangement to add that perfect pop of color to any fall event. The evening concluded with a special presentation from our guest speaker, Mandi Kosbab. Mandi shared some humorous and inspiring words of motivation and support. 	Fall Craft Show	November 2, 2019 marked 31 years of the Monticello Women of Today Chapter hosting a Fall Craft Show. This unique craft show's signifying trademark is their collection of artisans featuring hand crafted items ranging from specialty candies to crochet/knit items to the now popular pallet artwork. The event is held at the Monticello Community Center where also the Monticello Senior Citizens hold their craft show the same day - same location. Our chapter promotes not only our own craft show, but also includes a special acknowledgement of the additional Senior Citizens show being held concurrently - Two Great Craft Shows - One Location! All net process from the craft show is distributed throughout the local community to various charitable organizations such as the local food shelves, churches, youth organizations and many more. 	Father's or Mother's Day Essay	Third and fourth grade students are invited to write an essay entitled, "My dad/mom is the greatest because..." A committee reviews the essays and chooses three winners and awards each with a gift certificate to a local pizza restaurant. The essays and the father/mother-child pictures are published in the local newspaper and read on the local radio station the week before Father's Day or Mother's Day. 	Finding Joy Outdoors Challenge	Our Women's Wellness LPM offered up a great Finding Joy Outdoors Challenge to members in July. The challenge was created to help members focus on both physical and mental health especially in these times of isolation. For the entire month, members were given a list of joy-filled activities to complete in the outdoors (with the goal of completing 8) including: sink your bare feet into the grass, walk mindfully to a destination, eat your lunch outdoors, explore trails in a nearby park, take on a gardening project, go for a leisurely bike ride and much more. For the 8 members that completed the challenge, a wonderful dinner and some much-needed in-person (yet socially distanced) time was the prize. 	Food for Thought Bags	We assisted packing food bags that go to kids in our school area that don't get enough food at home. We also donated funds to this project. It provides kids extra food when not in school. The school superintendent and 2 other teachers also assisted us. Great opportunity to find out about more things going on at school level and also share much knowledge about the woman of today organization. In each bag we also put inspiring comments to the kids that would receive the food. Like keep up the great work. We love your smile, you are so smart. These ho out to about 100 kids each week. 	Food Shelf Collection	For a few hours each day, for almost a week, some of our members greeted shoppers at the door of our local grocery store with a "grocery list" of items needed by our local county food shelf. We encouraged them to "pick up something for the food shelf" while they did their regular shopping. We were amazed at how quickly the items of food piled up in our cart, filling it 3 times! In all, we collected just over 440 lbs of food items and almost $40 in donations. Click here to contact the St James WT chapter for this activity.
	Food Shelf Scavenger Hunt	Call local food shelf to find out their needs. Make a list of needed foods and assign points based on needs. Gather at starting place; give each team a list, grocery bag and the time to return. Go door to door to find items. Meet back at starting point to tally up points, pass out prizes to winners. Take picture with food collected. Then enjoy a snack and socialize; also, can combine as a membership door knocking event. Click here for more information. 	Gala Mailing Project	Burnsville Women of Today participated for the second year in a row preparing a mailing for the Priority Project: Wishes and More for their 2020 Gala Event. 10 members from the Burnsville Chapter and 2 members from the Monticello Chapter put in 25 hours of service in one evening to complete approximately 1600 mailers. Our LPM, Maureen Edstrom, completed an additional 200+ mailers and also made several trips to and from her home in Hastings to Fridley where WAM is located to make this project a success. This is a great project where the Burnsville Women of Today can make a true difference with their time for Wishes and More and the tremendous task that they have each year in getting the word out about their organization. 	Go Green	This m-event offers an opportunity for your chapter to hold an educational session full of tips to be more green in your community. 	Growing with Women of Today	This m-event has a lot of flexibility; you could make a flower or herb garden, invite in a local nursery or florist or plant seeds for the next growing season. 	Halloween Carnival & Dance	The Halloween Carnival and Dance serves children in the community ages birth through 6th grade. The carnival is held from 4:30 - 6:00pm at the Madelia Elementary school and is a series of games for children birth to 2nd grade. They win prizes and have a free meal inside, in a safe environment, with parents and other children. The dance is held from 7:00 - 9:00 at the elementary school and is open for children 3rd -6th grade. Along with having a DJ, the kids are fed a meal as well. The Madelia Women of Today provides these free events, supported by community donations, to allow children to celebrate Halloween in a safe environment. 96 kids were at the Halloween Carnival and 107 at the dance. 	Handbag Bingo	Use this fun activity for an informational meeting, m-event or just some fun at a social. Members pick 24 items from their purse and put on a bingo card. 	Happy Hour for a Cause	The Aitkin Women of Today held our first Happy Hour for a Cause at Block North Brew Pub on February 29, 2020. The cause was to raise money for our Aitkin City Park-Make Your Mark. Support Our Park program. There are 4 phases for this improvement project and our focus was on Phase 1. Phase 1 includes a new warming house with a room to rent, a new rink for broom ball, ice-skating, hockey and summer pickleball, and a new parking lot area. All phases include making everything handicapped accessible. This park improvement will not only benefit the Aitkin community, but will attract many visitors as Aitkin offers strong year-round recreational activities. The total cost for Phase 1 was $456,00. The AWT goal was to raise $2000 and have 200 attendees. We almost met our attendance goal with selling 190 admission tickets. A $20 admission ticket included an appetizer buffet, 2 house beverages and a chance for door prizes. In addition, there was a $5 raffle for a gas/charcoal grill, a picnic table, a fire ring, a fishing kayak, $100 and $50. Chance to Win tickets ($1) could be purchased for over 70+ prizes at the event. Aitkin businesses and individuals were very generous in their donations for the event. Gross income was just over $10,000 with in-kind donations of over $8400. The AWT also developed a Thriven Action Team that earned us two $250 gift cards to purchase supplies for the event and we were awarded a $1000 grant from the Minnesota Women of Today Foundation. This gave us a net total to donate to the Make Your Mark. Support Our Park-Phase1 projects, $8205. The amount donated was the final amount needed to meet the $456,000 goal. 	Historical Places Digital Tour	A chapter member made compilation of the National Register of Historic Places in Anoka County and the places of historical note in Coon Rapids. 	Holiday Card Boxes	This great Holiday social teaches you how to make small gift boxes out of old cards. We then fill the boxes with candy and deliver them to a local senior center. Click here for more information. Click here to contact the Duluth WT chapter for this activity.
	Jingle Jar	Worked with the local school district to provide Christmas gifts to families in need. This project helped 21 families which was a total of 69 kids from age 0 - 18 years old. The school raises money by having a jingle jar contest for the kids as school. We were given $2300 from the school for this project. CentraCare Clinic also helps with this project by purchasing gifts for some of the families. This year their donation was $3000 in gift purchased. Our chapter donates $500 towards this project. 	Kids Craft Night	Our annual Kids Craft Night is a free event for the community and allows them to come out with their children and participate in a night of crafts, coloring pages and games. This year the crafts were a turkey hat, a wreath made of leaves and a paper turkey craft as well as coloring pages. GBWT also set up a hanging bobbing apple station and free Italian Ice sodas. 	Kids Snack Bag Project	The Burnsville Women of Today were proud to participate in making up 200+ Kids Snack Bags for our local food shelf at 360 Communities in Burnsville. It was a great way to support the community in these heightened times of food insecurity. The bags included: water, crackers, fruit and granola snacks and mini bubbles for the kids. 	Kids Week	The Duluth Women of Today has a very successful Kids Week. On August 16, 8 members made a total of 23 tag along tie blankets to be donated to the Peds Ward at a local hospital. August 17, was painting nights, August 18 was family picnic night, August 19 was see a movie as a family or with grandchildren. August 20, 8 member made 100 Thank You for Your Service cards to be given to local Law Enforcement/Emergency personal. August 21 was craft day and August 22 was read a book to a child. 	Kids Week Movie Day	Aitkin Women of Today sponsored a field trip for 33 participants from Kids Club from our Rippleside Elementary School, to attend the movie "The Secret Life of Pets" at our local theater on August 19, 2020. A pop and popcorn was provided for each child and chaperone. The head person of the Kids Club stated this was a fun time for the kids and was a wonderful way to end their summer program. The Women of Today appreciate the generosity of the local theater owner of his discount to help us fund this activity. 	Laundry Pods/Dryers Sheets Kits	One of the local food shelves contacted Aitkin Women of Today to see if we were able to assemble and donate the laundry pods again as they were a popular item for the food shelf. At our June meeting, it was discussed that we really didn’t have the funds to do too many. One of the members offered to buy a jug of pods to help with the project, before I knew it, we had nine members donating a tub of pods. We voted to spend $50 on dryer sheets and baggies for the project. Approximately 114 baggies with 4 pods and 3 dryer sheets per baggie was donated in the amount of $204.43 to Aitkin Food Shelf, St. James Food Shelf, and 1st Lutheran Food Shelf. Delivered on July 1. An article was submitted to our local newspaper which was great PR for our chapter and state organization and showed some diversity in what we can donate to our food shelves. 	Learn A Latte	This m-event is really good for a new chapter or extension. Invite guests to a local coffee shop. Enjoy a Latte or other beverage while your guests learn about Women of Today. 	Letters from Santa/That Guy Letter	Letter from Santa or That Guy Letter – First year project. Information about this project was put out on Facebook, chapter members disseminated the information to family and friends, local hospital/clinic employees got on board, and Zachary’s family was instrumental on getting the word out. A flyer and information form were created for parents to complete about their children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, etc. Once information was collected at due date, we set up a night and filled in Santa template letters with children’s information. We had 22 templates to choose from in order to input information that fit the child the best. We sent a holiday color sheet with each letter. Letters were mailed from the North Pole in time for the kids to get them before Christmas. $5 per letter sent was requested. One hundred thirty-one (131) letters were sent out. Very excited for this outcome for a first year project. My goal was to donate $500. Donation of $550.00 was raised for donation after expenses and tax was subtracted. The foundation chosen to donate balance was Zachary Johnson’s Kids with Cancer Fund. A local foundation that donates money to families to help with expenses due to their children’s cancer. 	Making a Joy Jar	A Joy Jar is a jar that your guests will decorate and take home with them. Each day they will put a dated slip of paper in the jar. On the slip of paper they will write good things that have happened. Then on New Years Eve/Day, sit down and go through the slips and remember all the awesome things that happened over the year. 	Mother/Daughter Tea	A social with little prep and lots of fun. Daughters and mothers or friends, or step-mom, or neighbor attend and all wear hats. An Easter theme for decorations and food. 	Parents Night Out	Parents in our school district fill out a form explaining their situation with their child's disability and submit it to the Monticello school district and they give them our chapter and we pick the parent's in the months of November, December, January and February to go out on a night without their child or children. They receive $50 for dinner and a movie and $25 for a caregiver for the evening. Monticello has been doing this project for a few years now. After the parents have received this opportunity to go out and enjoy and evening they always send us a thank you note and how much they appreciate us doing this. 	Polyester Party	Send invites to prospective members and current members. Have everyone dress in tacky polyester outfits and bring their favorite pizza topping. Be sure to have enough cheese, sauce and crust covered in advance. Open with some kind of mixer. Assemble pizzas & enjoy. After dinner have a brief period to talk about WT. 	Poppin' In the Park	Invite guests to your local park and enjoy popcorn, pop, Popsicles, pop rock candy, blow-pops etc. Give confetti poppers out with the invites to have them for fun at your event. 	Progressive Dinner	This project gives spouses a chance to meet each other. Members donate their houses for the evening. Members sign up to bring the "side dishes" and the committee supplies the "main meal." There is a charge to cover the costs of the meat/potatoes. Entrees/snacks are served at one house for 30-40 minutes, then everyone goes to the next house for salads, then onto the third house for the main meal and dessert. 	Purse Scavenger Hunt	This is an excellent M-Night Event for an extension or a social where you have a lot of people with little knowledge of WT. 	Purse Swap	Invite your friends to bring like new purses and/or accessories. Then come up with a fun way to swap/shop for new items. 	Reverse Trick-or-Treat	Members and children were invited to dress up in Halloween costumes. We went through a local senior center and shared our Halloween spirit. 	Rib Cookoff	Our first annual rib cookoff was the brainchild of Mercedes Timm and was a huge success. This consisted of a rib cooking contest as well as a community rib tasting and prizes for the best recipes. 	Rock Painting	For Kids Week, we decided to have a rock painting event. One member got rocks from the North Shore. Many members donated supplies such as paint, brushes, and water cups. 	Santa Breakfast	The Santa Breakfast is a breakfast served with the presence of Santa Claus, who visits with the children before or after they eat with their families. The event also includes sleigh rides with real reindeer as well as door prize drawings, goody bags donated by community groups, a bake sale by another community group and a coloring contest. This created much good will among both community residents and chapter members. This project works with many community groups and increases our visibility and support in the community. 	Santa Days	Santa Days is an event that the GB WT host each year. This event includes a visit from Santa and Mrs. Clause, crafts and coloring pages and a candy cane fishing game. We also invite the 6th grade class to come and make and serve a free will donation meal so that they can use the funds for their class trip to Minneapolis. This year was especially great due to a grant from the Northwest Minnesota Foundation that allowed us to explore Santa gift options for our local youth. This year, we asked the Greenbush High School Building Trades Class to make wooden snowman kits for our area families. Due to this grant, we were able to gift snowmen kits to 99 families. 	Santa Shop	The Glenville Santa shop is a community favorite project! We have been doing this for many years and it continues to grow and improve. We start making crafts and items in September of each year during 2 craft nights. We have 8-10 members working on making items for the Santa shop. Some members purchase items and donate the items so our community children can come in and buy Christmas gifts for their parents, siblings and grandparents. The gifts are all under $2-3.00 with many only costing a $1.00. We as WT members help the kids shop for the gifts as their parents enjoy cookies, breads and coffee. We have connected with Santa so he stops in to see the boys and girls while they shop. A local gal does face painting also for the kids.. Recently the American Legion has joined us in providing a lunch for the kids to enjoy. On the Santa shop day, we have 9-10 members participating. The money raised at this project goes back into the school for needed funds. This project benefits our youth in the community in addition to bringing together other service organizations like the Legion and the Glenville booster club. 	Scavenger Hunt	Divide into teams. Add new twist to the routine scavenger hunt: on St. Patrick's Day, hunt for green things; on Valentine's Day, hunt for romance items, etc. Invite prospective members. serve refreshments at a member's home following the hunt. Another example of a non-traditional scavenger hunt is to include a list of items in the newsletter that members need to bring to the next membership meeting. 	St Patrick Wine Glass Painting	Wine Glass Painting was a relaxation project for Women's Wellness. Members were asked to bring a friend for a fun and relaxing event. Facebook advertising was done to invite potential members. Members and guests chose stencils and paint to create their design, as they relaxed and let their creative juices flow. This project was unique for our chapter because taking time for ourselves is rarely done. Guests who attended also enjoyed the project. 	State Fair on a Stick	Provide as many innovative food items that would be great on a stick dipped in chocolate. 	Strings & Things	Local community members joined us for string and shoelace crafts at the food court at the local Mall. We had a table set up with supplies and a Duluth Women of Today sign. People visiting the Mall's Food Court stopped to see what a bunch of us were doing, participated in the activity, and found out more about our chapter. Chapter members were asked to bring shoelaces, string, and/or yarn to demonstrate the activities found in the following books: "Laces: 100s OF WAYS TO PIMP YOUR KICKS" by Ian Fiegen, and "Cats Cradle, Jacob Ladder, Eiffel Tower, Cup & Saucer, Witches Broom: A Book of String Figures" by Anne Akers Johnson. 	Unbook Club	The Burnsville Women of Today Unbook Club was a great way for members to try something a little different than a traditional book club. Members were encouraged to bring whatever they had been reading, watching or listening to for a discussion in a nearby park. Five members talked about the books, movies, podcasts, articles and magazines that they had indulged in the previous months. Headed up by the LL LPM, a schedule and list of books for the entire MNWT year was established for upcoming Book Club discussions giving the chapter something to look forward to in the upcoming months. 	Valentine Treats Thank You	6 members and 1 guest purchased or baked two dozen treats for the 3 local fire station and police station. One members husband and children also helped make the treats. On February 12, 5 members and one child went to the Fire/Police dept. to deliver the treats. The members were given a tour of one of the fire stations and a tour of the garage of another station. 	Volunteer Tracker for website	This is an unusual project in that 1 person (Jane) worked on but will impact many, many members now and in the future. Jane developed ROD's online volunteer tracking system. Logging volunteer time is a very important process of managing our Chapter's volunteer program. Our Chapter did not have a standard or consistent process for tracking volunteer hours, and recording was not always the most efficient process. Jane chose to utilize mobile-first design principles which means that the volunteer can choose to use their computer's web browser or the browser of your tablet or phone and get the same user experience. Jane added the list of programming areas (provided by Tracy) in which members can filter the list by either Internal or External programming areas, or specific projects to track their volunteer time. The online form volunteers complete include their name, project/programming area and time volunteered and if any donations were provided by the members. Jane has also built in reporting options so we can report out at year end on where our Chapter stands for volunteer time, project hours and provide us back up for bragging rights at the state level. The ease of use with this online tracker allows members to quickly track their time without paper (Green baby!) and time spent by others manually adding up all those volunteers hours. The reason this project deserves project of the trimester is that is it applicable to all chapters, a tool our Chapter would love to share. Our goal for this tool is to not have members spend so much time tracking time but rather volunteering and participating in events. 	Women of Today Pamper Night	Chapter members attended a pamper night for Women of Today week. The members in were informed of the importance of skin care and red light therapy. They also participated in paraffin hand waxing, nail painting, foot soaks, essential oils, back and neck massages. There were door prizes given out and there was food, wine and chocolate served. 	Women of Today Week	To inform the public about our chapter and the Women of Today organization. Hung flyers, put place mats in restaurants and advertised on radio and in newspapers, etc. Promoted National, State and Local Women of Today by introducing chapter members to the community through full page newspaper ads and media ads. 	WT Babysitting Certification Clinic	Once a trimester, during the school year, SRWT has the opportunity to teach 4th and 5th grade students proper techniques of beginning babysitting. Students are registered through the Community Education Program. This is a great opportunity for young babysitters to learn what is expected when they take on a babysitting job. Our Women of Today members take turns teaching this clinic to students. As part of the project we check in registered students, provide them with a study guide , and offer a treat. We teach with the assistance of a video. Our members teach and give the students an opportunity to change a diaper, and mix a bottle of baby formula. We teach much information on safety, activities for different age groups, and the do's and don'ts of having a babysitting business. A quiz is given at the end of the clinic and the students receive a certification of having the training. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to have their child learn to care for the family's children and others. It also give our members an opportunity to work in the community schools through Community Education. This project is being nominated because it includes so many areas that WT work with, and it happens all at one time. Community, working with youth, education, and guidelines for healthy children are all areas this project encompasses. For this reason the project deserves a nomination. 	Zoom Exercise Mornings	Our Women’s Wellness LPM hosted two Zoom exercise mornings in May and June. On 5/ 23 5 members participated for 1.7 in service hours.
