What is the difference between State Staff and Executive Council?
The Minnesota Women of Today is comprised of many leadership roles. The State Staff serve the same purpose as the local chapter's Board of Directors. The State Program Managers (SPM) assist with disseminating information regarding the many programming areas our organization supports. They work closely with the District Program Managers (DPM) and Local Program Managers (LPM). The District Directors (DD) support the local chapters within their district. These leaders guide their chapters through challenges and successes. The Executive Council consists of the State Staff, SPMs, and DDs. The executive council meets prior to each state meeting and may take action on policies, make recommendations, and discuss items of importance to local chapters.
What are the eligibility requirements for District Director?
According to the State By-Laws, to become a District Director, you must be a member in good standing for at least two (2) years, you must have served as a local officer, and have the backing of your chapter.
What are the eligibility requirements for State Program Managers?
According to the State By-Laws, to become a State Program Manager, you must be a member in good standing for at least two (2) years; have served as a local program manager, and a district program manager or District Director a minimum of one (1) year each; have the backing of your chapter; and have an interest in the programming area.
What are the eligibility requirements for State Staff Positions?
According to the State By-Laws, to be eligible for a State Staff position, you must be a member in good standing for at least three (3) years; have been a local officer for at least one (1) year; have served on the State Executive Council for 1 year; and have the backing of your chapter.
Who do I talk to if I want to be on a State Committee? What are the eligibility requirements to be a committee member?
You can contact the State Committee chair for the committee you wish to join. The eligibility requirements vary by committee. Any member in good standing may request to become a committee member. Some committees require members to be voted in by the committee. Please contact the committee chair for full details.
I have a great idea for the state, who do I tell it to?
If it is for a specific area, you can send the idea to the appropriate State Staff member, State Program Manager, or State Committee Member. If you are unsure who to send it to, contact the Chapter Service Center at csc@mnwt.org.
I want to make a donation to the State, where do I send it?
If you would like to donate to State Ways & Means, make check payable to MNWT and send it to the current Ways & Means State Program Manager.
If you would like to donate to the MNWT Foundation, make check payable to MNWT Foundation and send it to the current Foundation Committee Chair.

How do I qualify for a PEP Course, how do I order a PE Course, can I make up my own PE Course (how does that work)?

How do I run a district meeting?

How do I run a chapter meeting?
Each chapter may run their meeting a little differently. Here are some guidelines from the state on how to run an effective chapter meeting and board meeting.
What Women of Today awards are available?
There are many awards offered by the state and national organizations. You can find a listing of awards here. There may also be other awards offered by your local chapter, you should check with your chapter president for those.
How do I change my address with the Women of Today?
You can simply email the chapter service center at csc@mnwt.org with your updated information. Don’t forget to also make sure your chapter knows about your address change.
How do I get an article into the State NEWSLET?
Every member is encouraged to submit an article to this newspaper by contacting the state program manager. Items included are: staff and program manager news, awards received at conventions, personal notes, chapter highlight, etc. You can use the NEWSLET submission form in the book of forms as well.
How do I put an ad for my business in the State NEWSLET?
You can email the current NEWSLET State Program Manager at newslet@mnwt.org for the current ad rates and details.
How do I put a personal note to someone in the State NEWSLET?
Anyone can put a small note in the NEWSLET. There is a small fee. Please contact the current NEWSLET State Program Manager at newslet@mnwt.org for details.
