In keeping with our Seussical theme, the service project for convention will be a book drive for Learning Disabilities Association of Minnesota. Donations will be distributed throughout the state of Minnesota. Click here for more information.
Recent studies show that in middle class communities there are 13 books per child, while in low-income communities there is only one book for every 300 children. Each year LDA Minnesota distributes books to more than 500 low-income students whose families cannot afford these books on their own. Especially during the summer and winter break months, your books will help maintain a child’s reading level to ensure they do not fall further behind!
For questions regarding anything convention related, don't hesitate to contact us: Chairs Barb Monsrud & Andrea Schue can be contacted at D2convention@@gmail.com.
State Programming Taskforce
Upon review of the MNWT Bylaws, the following motions need to be presented and approved by the membership in addition to the policy changes about programming being presented and approved by the Executive Council at Annual Convention.
Bylaw Motion: I move to strike “NEWSLET Editor” in Article XV. Section 2. and replace with “Executive Director. This would now read “The Executive Director shall be permitted to enter into a contract for the publication of the NEWSLET in the name of the Minnesota Women of Today with prior approval of the contract by the Finance Committee.”
Bylaw Motion: I move to strike “Internal Vice President” in Article XV. Section 3. and replace with “State Secretary”. This would now read “The NEWSLET Editor shall be permitted to enter into a contract agreement in the name of the Minnesota Women of Today with NEWSLET sponsors and advertisers with the approval of the State President, State Secretary, and Accountant.”
Time again to submit the listing of your chapter's Board of Directors
by completing the Chapter Officer Submission form.
